General Description:

IT Shows, Inc. is seeking FOIA Associate to provide FOIA support services for USTDA and ensures
FOIA responses meet all compliance requests. This full time position with core hours from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday- Friday.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

The FOIA Associate provides assistance to maintain the internal FOIA log, collects and organizes resulting documents, and coverts documents in the appropriate format. It is the responsibility of the FOIA Associate to redact private contact information within resulting documents, to prepare standard response templates, and disseminate resulting documents to requester and/or designee as required. S/he performs other FOIA related duties to assist client respond to and process FOIA assisting Agency’s Chief FOIA Officer and the Office of General Counsel to receive, read, and process FOIA requests sent to the Agency. S/he tracks, records, and update in the Agency’s FOIA system specified information related to each FOIA request and the Agency’s actions taken in response to each such FOIA request.

Successful candidate directs FOIA requests to the appropriate offices, teams, and/or individuals both within and outside the Agency, coordinates with and assists offices, teams, and/or individuals both within and outside the Agency to collect, organize, and manage responsive documents. S/he follows up with
Agency personnel, FOIA requesters, and third parties as necessary to efficiently and effectively process the FOIA requests in a manner consistent with statutory requirements.

The FOIA Associates is responsible to process responsive documents through the Agency’s FOIA system, including (without limitation) by (a) redacting personally identifiable information, private non-government contact information, and other similar information, and (b) identifying potentially excludable documents for further review and confirmation by Office of the General Counsel. S/he prepare draft response letters, and deliver signed response letters to FOIA requesters along with responsive documents, assists the Agency in performing its quarterly and annual FOIA-related reporting obligations and performs other responsibilities and tasks related to the FOIA program as directed.

Qualifications, Education, And/Or Experience:

Strong computer skills (database word processing and data entry skills); FOIAXpress intermediate level or above. Communication skills (verbal and written).
Required: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills. Commitment to innovative and quality customer service.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance of at least Secret level.
• Ability and flexibility to cross-train on other positions.
• Must be able to physically handle a large amount of files, reports and boxes on a daily basis.
• High School diploma required; college degree preferred
